MIKROMIKS Biotechnology is a Biotechnology company founded in 2020 at Ege Technopark, a part of Ege University, in Izmir, by expert microbiologists and environmental engineers. Our company started its activities as a start-up company by winning the TÜBİTAK 1512 Techno-enterprise Capital Support Program. Our company mainly operates in the fields of Environmental Biotechnology, Microbial Biotechnology, Agricultural Biotechnology and Probiotics.
Our main goal is to produce innovative and sustainable solutions to environmental and agricultural problems through effective microorganisms, to develop technology and to create added value in the field. R&D activities are carried out by expert researchers with more than 20 years of experience in the field. Our company has a large collection of effective microorganisms that have been acquired as a result of various studies in the field of microbiology for many years. In addition, this collection is constantly enriched with ongoing R&D studies.

Our Activity Areas
It is about obtaining a highly stable microbial product for odor removal for environmental systems. Bad odors occur in many domestic and industrial systems and natural systems and create both recreational and aesthetic problems where they occur. Since the use of microbial products for odor removal will enable the odor components to be purified in a low cost and sustainable manner using effective and environmentally friendly natural systems, there are important opportunities for solving this problem in microbiological deodorization.
Another field of activity is the creation of seed protection products containing active microorganisms. It is extremely important that agricultural control activities are carried out in accordance with sustainable agricultural production techniques in a way that will reduce the side effects on human and environmental health, agroecosystem and biological balance. As a result of incorrect and excessive use of chemical plant protection products used in the control of diseases and pests, phytotoxicity in plants, resistance in harmful organisms and residue problems in plant products occur. Microorganisms that are active against phytopathogens and enhance plant growth are considered a natural alternative way to relieve the pressure on the environment from conventional agriculture.
Again, the beekeeping sector is one of the most important agricultural areas for our country, and one of the most important problems in beekeeping is the yield losses caused by Varroa mites. Probiotics, on the other hand, contain effective microorganisms that have recently proven beneficial for humans and animals. Another area of activity of our company is the development of probiotic products containing effective microorganisms to reduce yield losses in honey bees.
